Last updated: 1 January 2026  ·  TradesFinders Ltd

This Privacy Policy explains how TradesFinders Ltd and its group companies ("TradesFinders", "we", "us", "our") collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use our website, trading platforms, or services. Please read it carefully.

We take data protection seriously. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the EU GDPR where applicable, and the data protection laws of each jurisdiction in which we operate.

1. Who we are

TradesFinders Ltd is registered in England and Wales (Company No. 03811468) at 5 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5HU. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK and EU GDPR.

Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at dpo@tradesfinders.com.

  • Email address, phone number, and residential address
  • Financial information: employment status, income, net worth, trading experience (required for appropriateness assessment)
  • Bank account or payment details for deposits and withdrawals
  • Communications you send us by email, live chat, or phone

  • Trading activity: orders placed, instruments traded, positions, account balances, and transaction history
  • Login times, session duration, and security events
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

3. How we use your information

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • Providing our services: account opening, order execution, position management, and customer support
  • Legal and regulatory compliance: identity verification (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML) checks, transaction monitoring, and reporting obligations to regulators
  • Risk management: assessing the suitability of our products for your circumstances and monitoring for unusual account activity
  • Fraud prevention and security: detecting and preventing unauthorised access, fraud, and other illegal activities
  • Service improvement: analysing how our platform is used to improve functionality, fix bugs, and develop new features
  • Marketing communications: sending you information about products, promotions, and market updates — only where you've given consent or where permitted by applicable law. You can opt out at any time.

Our legal basis for processing is: contract performance (services), legal obligation (compliance), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, analytics), and consent (marketing).

4. Sharing your data

We do not sell personal data. We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • Liquidity providers and execution venues — to route and settle trades
  • Payment processors and banking partners — to process deposits and withdrawals
  • Identity verification providers — third-party KYC/AML services (e.g., document verification, sanctions screening)
  • Regulatory and law enforcement authorities — where required by law, court order, or regulatory instruction
  • Professional advisers — lawyers, auditors, and insurers under confidentiality obligations
  • Group companies — other entities within the TradesFinders group, for internal administrative purposes

All third-party processors are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the specified purpose.

5. How long we keep your data

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and meet legal obligations. In practice:

  • Account data and transaction records are kept for a minimum of 7 years from account closure, in line with FCA and AML requirements
  • Identity documents are retained for at least 5 years from the end of the client relationship
  • Communications (including support tickets and recorded calls) are retained for 3 years unless required for longer by regulation
  • Marketing preferences are retained until you withdraw consent or request deletion

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under data protection law:

  • Right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to pause processing your data in certain circumstances
  • Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing
  • Rights related to automated decision-making — we don't make automated decisions that have legal or significant effects on you without human review

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@tradesfinders.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK or your local supervisory authority.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website and improve your experience. For full details of what cookies we set, why we set them, and how to manage your preferences, please read our Cookie Policy.

8. Security

We implement technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. These include TLS encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, two-factor authentication on all accounts, access controls and privilege management for internal systems, and regular security audits and penetration testing.

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@tradesfinders.com.

9. International transfers

TradesFinders operates globally, which means your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA). Where we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the UK ICO or European Commission, or adequacy decisions.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document shows when the current version was published.
